• I selected A Place Like Home for respite care based on the location near my mom's neighborhood and her friends. After three days, I found my mother happy to move in permanently. The small size of the facility allowed everyone to get to know each other quickly and the personalized care by the staff and owner cannot be matched by any corporate run "resort" facility. The staff were very patient and accommodating, and were always responsive to my daily phone calls and frequent visits. The staff and owner go out of their way to provide personalized care. Dr. Walker and the staff made my mom's 91st birthday a special occasion, throwing a party complete with her favorite foods. My mom's friends visited often and were made to feel welcomed by the staff.
